    1. All-Inclusive IDC Package: When you opt for the Complete IDC package, your accommodation is already covered! Enjoy a serene private aircon room with a lush Balinese garden, located near the dive center. In case already fully booked, you get a private room in the Dive Resort. Accommodations are provided at the guesthouse first. The earlier you secure your booking, the better your accommodation placement will be!
    2. Complete Package with Private Room and Pool: If you prefer the Complete Package and desire a guaranteed private room with air conditioning and a small pool, you're in luck! Simply enhance your chosen IDC Package by adding 3 million IDR. This option ensures a more exclusive stay.
    3. Customized Accommodation Selection: Alternatively, if you have specific preferences and wish to personally choose your accommodation, we understand! Depending on your budget, we can assist you in finding a more luxurious option. We will provide you with a short list of accommodations near Scuba Center Asia in the Mushroom Beach area, allowing you to select the one that best suits your preferences.

    • Free accommodation for our Instructor candidates who choose the "complete IDC package".

We do limit course numbers to ensure you get the best attention and coaching from our PADI Course Director Kim. Diving is for everyone and every diver has their own style. The IDC with Kim course allows you to develop your own style but with integrated learning and professional standards set by PADI – skills that you can take anywhere in the world.     The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) is a course you can take anywhere in the world and it is recognized worldwide no matter where you go diving! It’s divided into 2 segments, the Assistant Instructor component and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) is the second component. At the end of the full IDC, the PADI Instructor Examination is held by one of PADI’s own examiners. The course tests your theory and knowledge and puts you in the best position to take your passion for diving and turn it into a full-time career.

    The IDC Staff Instructor course is a significant milestone in your diving career, perhaps more so than ever before. It’s a chance to step into the shoes of the instructors you once admired. Those aspirations of becoming a dive professional and immersing yourself in the industry you love can finally materialize after completing this course.

    As an IDC Staff Instructor, you’ll dive deep into scuba diving knowledge and learn how to train new PADI Instructors at a Course Director level. You’ll work alongside our PADI Course Director and Master Instructor during a typical IDC, getting hands-on experience. They’ll teach you how to lead candidate counseling sessions, elevate teaching techniques both above and below the water, and become a dive mentor. Basically, you’ll have the chance to coach the next wave of dive educators during the PADI IDC.

    What PADI materials do you need?

    You’ll receive your very own PADI IDC Staff Instructor Digital crew pack. This pack isn’t just any crew pack—it’s the ultimate one. It contains all the essential ‘secret information’ for various PADI programs, including the PADI Course Director manual and evaluation slates. Here’s the cool thing: while the materials aren’t exactly cheap, your slates and CD manual are incredibly valuable. They’re your ‘golden materials’, especially since you’ll keep using them even after you become a Course Director.

    The price of the digital crew pack is 10 million IDR.

    In addition to the crew pack, you’ll also need dive instructor cue cards, PADI manuals, the PADI Guide to Teach, and the most recent update of the PADI Instructor manual. Luckily, you have this already from previous courses. If that is not the case, just let us know and we get you sorted.

    What is the price for the IDC Staff Instructor Course?

    The cost for the IDC Staff Instructor Course is 10 million IDR. This fee covers the entire course, including complimentary lunches and unlimited snacks and drinks throughout the duration of the IDC. So, you’ll not only get comprehensive training but also enjoy some delicious treats along the way, all included in the course fee.

    Together your investment to become an IDC Staff Instructor is 20 million IDR.

    The PADI application fee for the IDC Staff Instructor course is 214AUD.

    The Opportunities you have as a PADI IDC Staff Instructor:

    Kim, our avatar and founder, has been integral to shaping the foundation of our Dive Professional team. She started her dive career 30 years ago, and for the past fifteen years, she focused on “living the dream”. Together with her partner, they built Scuba Center Asia into a successful PADI IDC Dive Resort on Lembongan Island.  Soon to be a PADI Career Development Center. Kim is the Director of the company. As a visionary leader, she has set the standard for excellence in dive instruction worldwide. Kim is the driving force behind Scuba Center Asia’s program success. You’ll catch her winding down with a glass of wine, accompanied by her furry friends, and her laughter. Well, let’s just say it’s impossible to miss!

    Introducing Uning, our part-time addition to the team! As a local Indonesian woman, Uning brings a unique perspective and cultural insight to our program. With a background as a yoga teacher, reiki guru, and surf chic, she offers a holistic approach to dive training. Uning’s got a serious love affair with coffee and dogs! She loves to kickstart her day with a brew before the sun even thinks about rising. She’s all about those early morning surf sessions or gearing up for whatever the day throws her way.

    Add-on Pimpin and Yasmine as the Master Staff Instructors/Dive Coaches. Together they are known to be a true powerhouse! With their combined expertise, passion, and infectious energy, they make an unbeatable team.  Not only are they good at what they do, but they also bring a sense of humor and fun to every training session.     MSDT Internship

    At Scuba Center Asia, we're all about helping you reach new heights in your dive career. The Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) rating is one of the highest levels of achievement for PADI instructors. It signifies a significant level of experience and proficiency in teaching various scuba diving specialties. To earn the MSDT rating, a dive instructor must first become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) and then complete additional training in at least five PADI specialty courses.

    Once the instructor (you) has taught a specified number of students in each specialty and received positive evaluations, they can apply for the MSDT rating. Achieving MSDT status demonstrates a commitment to continuing education and skill development in the diving industry.

    As an MSDT, you'll be in high demand, not just here at Scuba Center Asia, but at dive centers and resorts worldwide. This rating opens doors to exciting opportunities, allowing you to expand your teaching repertoire, and advance your career. As an MSDT you get jobs as a dive shop manager or dive resort operation manager etc.

    The Master Scuba Diver Trainer rating is your next big step in your PADI Dive Career. A few Q&A's:

    Q: Why is the MSDT rating important as a dive instructor?

    A: It shows a level of seniority in the diving industry. It means you have a certified minimum of 25 people for a PADI diving course. It also allows you to work more closely and learn from the senior dive instructors at Scuba Center Asia Lembongan.

    Q: What is included in the MSDT internship?

    A: At Scuba Center Asia Lembongan, you'll team up with one of our experienced dive instructors. You'll learn by working alongside them, gradually taking on more tasks and even exploring various PADI courses. Depending on your experience level, we'll set some goals for you to achieve as you assist in teaching. Food and drinks on the boat are also included. Just bring your positive attitude and professionalism—qualities our dive instructors embody!

    Important to note: there are limited spots available each month. Priority is given to our own IDC candidates.

    Q: How long is the MSDT training?

    A: To be able to get to an MSDT level you need 25 certifications in total. At Scuba Center Asia, we split this up into packages of 5 certifications. Essentially, it means you get to co-teach until you've helped certify 5 students. This could take a week or longer, depending on the number of students and your availability. Your level of assistance and professionalism also play a role in this process.

    Q: What is the price of the MSDT internship?

    A: For 5 "student certs", you pay 5 mln IDR.

    Viki, the main man of the Scuba Center Asia dive team and soon to be IDC Staff Instructor. With his engaging personality and years of diving experience from around the globe, Viki has called Lembongan home for the past few years. He's an indispensable part of our Scuba Center Asia team, bringing his expertise and enthusiasm to the PADI Divemaster program and is an example for the local young Indonesian divers. Viki's love for the ocean shines through in all he does.

    Big trouble on the boat with this one! Haha not really, but if you are looking for some fun on the boat or around the dive center, JuliBcool is the man to look for! He is responsible for all logistics and control of the boat and dive center. With his sense of humor and hard work mentality, he is definitely someone you want to meet.
